    Another use for the ghost (residual) brackets on the A pillar:

    Add an M8 threaded clip nut to the lower bracket and it accepts a standard Rammount B size ball. You can then attach any Rammount item with appropriate attachments. I use it for my phone.

    Drill a hole right through the plastic A pillar cover right where the clip slots into the cover (Toyota uses the lower handle bracket on the A pillar to accept the clip, but this is not critical for retaining the cover). I will add photos if there is any interest, but this is a very, very simple mod. It works great, especially if you prefer your phone closer to the door, as I do (blind space from A pillar is a good spot and easy to grab coming and going).


    Here is an example of the threaded clip nut:

    Just remove the A pillar cover, add the threaded clip nut, drill one hole in the cover and add the ram ball. You can adjust the ram ball or re-open the cover by threading the hex bolt on the ball. Tell me what you think.

    UPDATE:

    I will be updating all the orders again this weekend so if you are someone that isn’t on the list, you will be able to check the list by the end of the weekend to see if you are on it and let me know.

    There are a couple things that I will be modifying that over the week I have noticed with the Grab Handle/A-Pillar. I could leave it, but for installation purposes these adjustments are necessary to make each one of your life’s easier and less questions for me.

    One thing I noticed is that the Driver Side compared to the Passenger Side seems to need longer Bolts due to the two anchor locations not coming out as much. However, when I went to go find that length, it was in between two sizes that I needed. One was too long and the other was too short. With that said, I’ve been doing a lot of measuring and moving this and that and believe we have it down to what needs altered. I’d like to try and rent a Tacoma or see if there is a 3rd Gen in my Area that would be free for a couple hours so I could do some measures with your passengers side to verify as well as just install the 3D Model in another 3rd Gen to verify measurements as well. So, if there is any 3rd Gen in the area where you are free for maybe a couple hours that we would be able to remove both your A-Pillars and do some measurements/pictures/comparisons, please let me know. If not, ill look into renting probably a 3rd Gen sometime soon.
