Trade oem chrome side step nerf bars for black ones

I've got these chrome 5" nerf bars that came with my truck, great condition. Wanting to drop all the chrome. Anyone interested in a trade, or does anyone have an idea on getting these black thats not plasti-dipping? Do the plastic step parts come off easy enough to powder coat them?

 

You can take the steps off and try bed liner coating, or just put them up for sale/trade in local craigs

 

The plastic step part can pop off?? I'm worried of snapping the pins that hold them on

 

90% chance pins will snap off.

Wondering the same thing! Update us if you end up coating the bars.

 

Sell the chrome OEMs. You won't get much (everyone wants black), but you can use the proceeds towards a set of new ones. There are a bunch of choices in the $200 range. I like the Lund 5 inch curved ovals.
