should i use Por-15 on this developing rust spot?

i think it is just flash rusting in there right now but the winter monster is around the corner and it could get real real fast

should i let it rust some more, the Por-15 is not intended for clean metal?, which a portion of it still seems to be

 

Spray over that with some good ol Rust-Oleum

 

Heck no, what I did on mine was went around with a wire wheel and drill and took every little speck down to bare metal and painted it with por15. Worked great and my truck is spotless underneath

 

I don't understand why you would use Pro-15 on bare metal. It's designed to go over rust. I would have just used a quality paint. Probably hold up better, and easier to apply.

is Por-15 fairly easy to remove with an abrasive blast gun?

Is it warm enough or does your truck live in a nice climate controlled garage year round ??

 

Cant say I've never tried to remove it but it has held up very good over the past 2 years

 

You could hit it with a rust reformer to try and stop the rust. You could use POR but the napa rubberized frame coating is pretty good too especially for small area like that.
