I'm using my injectors but the plugs have oil on them. The engine I bought tipped over while hauling it back. I pulled the plugs and wiped them off. It popped out tail pipe couple times and then battery went dead. Still haven't gotten it to run yet . it's starting to become a major headache for me

Ok so it's firing. But it's back firing thru the intake. Could it be where it's a different engine that had coil packs and my truck is setup for the coil and plugs in a straight line from the top down?

It sounds more to me like the timing is off.

If you kept your electronics and just swapped engines, I don't see why the difference in ignition systems would make a difference, although I do wonder about the cam and crank sensors

Sensors are good. Its not throwing any codes either. Idk how timing would be off or how it got out of time either. How would it be out of time if I just pulled it from one running truck into my truck?

Only thing that comes to mind is the coils being hooked up out of order. But I am no expert on these. Hmm.

heck the plugs again. Did you replace them or just clean them? This motor was running when you took it out? You heard it running?

Yes it ran yes I heard it. I cleaned them first to see what that would do. I might have found another thing it might be also. The wires to cam sensor weren't connected in the plug all the way but Idk how to put them back in plug right

The wires just push in. there's a little sliver of metal that is raised up that holds the terminal in. see circled part of picture.

Does it matter what cylinder the COPs go in or do they have to go in the cylinder it came out of?

Well I believe it's a wiring problem or the computer has an issue. It still cranks gets fuel and sparks very weakly. Do the coil on plug type still allow low spark if they are going Bad or do they just stop working? But it still won't run. I'm just frustrated and tired of working on it. Any ideas?

Have you run a compression test?

Something's not right. In 2000 only California had coil on plug.

    Screenshot 2019-12-25 at 20.12.23.jpg

There were a bunch of other differences too:

-The shape of the intake port of the cylinder head has been changed.
    -Valve timing has been changed.
-Along with the change in the shape of the intake port of the cylinder head, the intake manifold has been changed.
-A compact, 1-coil type IAC valve has been adopted.
-An exhaust manifold made of stainless steel has been adopted.
-WU-TWC (Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter) is used.
-Compact, fine-atomization, 12-hole type fuel injectors have been adopted.
-The DIS (Direct Ignition System) that provides one ignition coil for every cylinder has been adopted.
    -Air-fuel ratio sensor is used.

Some of those seem like they would affect a block-only swap. But I wouldn't be sure you have a 2000 49-state 3RZ or that you put in a 2000 CA 3RZ.
