those might not be just regular steel. I have no idea what high performance rotors are made out of but that may be why.

Your rotors do look pretty new. Glad you got it figured out.

yeah, they're zinc plated, but all that gets rubbed off by the calipers anyways. I guess overall it does help though.

That's why I don't take my truck and car to any shop. Dishonest bastards!

Just so they don't give you a part from another car back, mark your old part with a dot of paint. When they replace the part and give you the old one back, check your painted dot so you know that part came from your truck.

I finally got around to taking a picture during my strut replacement. I had my rotors replaced about 4 months ago, so they should provide a good comparison for you. Note: I live in upstate NY where it is pretty humid all the time.

    They look new to me.

Next time just do them yourself. If you can install lift parts, you can change out your pads and rotors -

oh, it's not that I thought I couldn't do it (I have done it), it's simply that I didn't want to take on another project. I already have one (my VW) that takes up all my time, money, and effort. I wanted my truck to simply be easy.

turns out that is never the case...

obviously the adage proves: If you want it done right, do it yourself.

Based from what I can tell, they look new. Basing that on 2 things I see.

#1. The "from the top" picture in post # 38. The inside part of the fins still look really good and clean.

#2. From the pic where there are blue/red circles. The interior of the red circle, the rotor still looks rather silver on the hub area.
