Have you done a compression test?

    Back up some.

Why did you use sealant? I know for a leak but was it determined where? What? How? When?

Really we need more info. otherwise the only answer is "It didn't work".

there are 4 places that I know of on the 3.4 where coolant will "disappear" to. The loss will be enough to be noticeable but not large enough to locate.
the first is the thermostat bypass tube under the lower intake manifold.
the second is the small coolant lines that go to the IAC valve.
the third is the steel core plug in front of the flywheel D/S.
the fourth is where to coolant passes between the cylinder heads and the lower intake. always seems to be pitting there and engine vacuum draws it in little bits at a time.

My mechanic was supposed to do a compression test. He said it may be a small crack in head gasket so that’s why he put the sealant. So I still have to put coolant in. It sometimes runs rough and has just had new plugs and wires put in. I’ve never had this issue b4

Have you checked the radiator? I smelled coolant in the engine bay and had to top off once a month in my old truck. Knew I was loosing it, but could never figure out where.

No signs of leaks except a very small wet patch along the passenger side of the radiator that I couldn't see it until I pulled it out. Had a hairline crack along almost the entire side. It would evaporate before it would form enough to drip.

If your engine is running rough and you're losing coolant, it's a bad head gasket or a cracked head. A compression test followed by a leak down test will confirm this. When you find a find a cylinder(s) with low compression, then do a leak down test. Once you pressurize the low cylinder, pull the radiator cap off. You are most likely going to see air bubbles rising.

Thank you Timmah and Captain Magma as soon as my mechanic answers his phone I will talk to him about this. You guys have given me some hope. Christmas brought lots of problems. This is one of many. I hope your new year begins well and continues to go that way. Pep
