I carry nomex (army aviation) gloves in case stuff gets hot or crazy, as can happen in an emergency.

As i recently made a switch from a Wrangler to the Taco im loving the extra storage now that i have a bed cover and storage tote in the bed. i may over-do it but its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The biggest problem is remembering what you do have and where it is lol

The most important IMO is an improvised first aid kit build around your knowledge and first aid capabilities. always keep a few quikclots in there too.

I have a bug-out-bag in my rear seat with:
6 bottles of water (in AZ its a must to have water at all times)
Heavy and Spare Clothing (It gets surprisingly cold in the desert)
    Emergency Flares
    First Aid Kit
    Emergency Blanket
    Fire Starter
    Hiking Boots
    Parachord
    Lifestraw water purifier
    Walkie Talkies
    Batteries
    Physical State Map
Whiskey - Because if i need the bag i'm probably going to need a good shot of whiskey too lol

    In the truck/bed i keep:
    9mm
    Bear Spray
    Fire extinguisher
iPad with GPS and full state map locally stored
    More water
    Another first aid kit
    Recovery Boards
    Shackle Hitch Receiver
    60' Tow Strap
    Bottle Jack
    Jumper Cables
Jumper Battery - NOCO brand is my preference
    Tactical Shovel
    Bolt Cutter
    Hatchet
    Machete
Tool bag with misc wrenches, sockets, pipe wrench
    Air Compressor
    TP
    CB Radio
    15x70 Binoculars

Careful with those sutures. If your not a MD you can not use the sutures. Rx only, practicing medicine without a license. You save somebodies life a the DA makes an example of you!

I have a couple flashlights, FAK, waterproof matches that I made, a few granola bars, extra hat and gloves, multitool. That may be a little lite, but it is a TACOMA!

Those that have a generic first aid kit from academy/Walmart/Amazon/eBay, I urge you to add to that.
The number one thing I believe every person should carry on them or in their vehicle is a tourniquet, and the knowledge of how to use it. A well placed tourniquet can save lives in many different types of situations.
I’ll get off the soap box now.

Viair 88p compressor, and airdown tool, tire repair/patch kits.. passenger rear I keep an 4ton bottle jack, as well as the stock bottle jack, breaker bar with tools to remove lugs, as well as stock spare lugs, and ET tapered silver lugs (rims have Gorilla black ET tapered lugs), Behind the passenger seat I dont have anything yet.. planning to put a small bug out bag there (change of clothes, some emergency food, and simple survival stuff).. I keep a kobalt steel series shovel in the bedside quick fist mount, and a fiskars axe as well. I also carry a small tool bag int he bed under the tonneau basic hand tools, and M12 milwaukee impact/ratchet. Oh and cant forget the roll of gorilla tape......

Does the same apply to staples, (the medical type), if you are not suppose to use sutures?

emergency situation... use them... good samaritan law protects you from using any measure to save a life. but for a cut that pressure can cease the bleeding... use pressure, and compression bandages/electrical/duct tape!! lol

    None....yet.
May sound stupid or not as important as other things mentioned, but a $5 reflective vest can save your life if you're stuck/broken down ON ROAD.

    For whoever it may concern:

Store bought First Aid Kits are usually a lot of filler. To each their own, but I personally carry a Trauma Kit and no First Aid Kit.

Basics are just gauze and wrap to stop bleeding and a good torniquete and/or rats torniquete to do the same. That will cover the the majority of what you can actually do in an accident ha. Just stop bleeding.

After that I recommend a good CPR/first aid certification class where you’ll learn a bit more.

Add to your Trauma/FAK as you add to your skill set. Add a tool each time you learn to use it.

Something like this is more than enough for a trauma kit (in my personal opinion):

    TRAUMA Kit: (not first aid)

    Outside bag:
    Gloves (x4-8)
    Trauma sheers
    Knife / window breaker
    Clear eye pro

    Inside bag:
    CAT torniquete (x2)
    RATS torniquete
    Gauze (x2-4)
    Coban Wrap (x3)
CPR Mask <— (important for you, not them)
    Sterile wipe (pack)
    Hand sanitizer

If you stop there that’s sufficient.
A few more things to add if you wish:

    Israelí emergency bandage (x2)
    Quick clot (x2)
    Ace wrap
    Tape (x2)
    Xeroform gauze
    Space blanket

Hope that helps someone. It is often a lot cheaper to build your own, too. Cheers.

If it keeps me from spending any more time on the side of the road and gets me home, ill buy new sensors if I have to. Ive known two people killed while trying to fix their vehicle on the side of the road.
