Yes. I tried that water based polycrylic. It wasn't too bad to work with. It dries really quick you have to be careful that you don't over brush it on

Water based! I generally ask old timers what to use for finish they always say oil based, but goo to know there is a water based poly out there that’s good, love the walnut but the way!!

I'm oil guy but time was a factor and I didn't feel like stinking up the house with a spray. I'm still skeptical with the water based but in going to try it again. I mean clean up is so convenient.

I’ve used the water based poly before. It turned out nice but it was bad after the first coat. It REALLY raises the grain!

Yeah I hit it with 400 grit. The sides came out smooth. I had some brush strokes in the lid.

Do you hit the finished product with water and let it dry then sand then apply the poly?

A friend gave me an old fence post, about 5’ tall. Going to turn a few candleholders and try my first lidded box.

Nice! I do have the Arbortech turbo plane, which I used on the crib I made for my daughter. It definitely takes some getting used to, but it is a pretty cool tool!

Got tired of all my systainer boxes in a big stack on the floor so I recycled some old 3/4" plywood work tables from my current job into some shelving boxes for them , just trying a test fit of the systainers here , next I'm going to mount the shelving units to the wall

This arrangement is only temporary storage till I build my shop , then I'll likely do some kind of Sys-Port set up
