The sensors while driving alert with sound n light of cars in blind "zone".
The same sensors also alert of approaching vehicles when parked and reverse is selected.
The sensing and processing alert is done at the sensors this is sent to the lights in the door mirrors and the cab buzzer.

I have had delivery vans parked beside me completely blocking my vision, those back up sensors are great for situations like that.

So this is weird. Was driving on the highway and all the sudden my BSM started working. Then I parked and when I turned the truck back in it was inoperable again and now there’s a warning in the dash.

Absolutely. Other than situations like that I never really care about it.

My accountant is friends with the owner of the dealership where I bought the truck. He’s going to hit him up and see if they’ll just fix it for free since it’s so soon out of warranty.

Caribe, do any of those systems share a common ground? Was just thinking that maybe it's something like that with an intermittent connection.

In the cab the BSMS/RTC system share the mirrors (Left & Right) grounds with the Main Body ECU (headlights included), but so many others also...He would have many other issues.

Yeah, sounds like that's a reach given a bunch of other things going to the same ground. Still, though, if that's a reasonably accessible bolt on the body with multiple ground wires going into it, it might be worth checking it for corrosion or looseness.

Figured I’d update this. According to the dealership the sensors are faulty. Around $2500 repair. Toyota corporate is paying for it and will warranty the work. Score!

If Toyota wouldn’t foot the bill I just wouldn’t have fixed it. Insane price.

I wonder how much for just the sensor online. Bet it's like $150!
