All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    Look at this 80 flexin’

So..it’s pretty muddy. Did not get pics of it as we hit it at night (crazy).

Worst of it is closer to the I40 side. Def want sliders and skids. I did not have a winch but wish I had one in the case I got stuck. Bring a buddy.

That is perfect. Looks like a great time was had. I appreciate the feedback.

@CowboyTaco and @Built2Ride y’all still mulling over the idea of making the trip Saturday?

Going to be at the I40 rest area just before the trail head at 11/11:30am tomorrow. Hitting Hurricane Creek and Max Patch then heading to Buzzards Roost Sunday. I’ll post up in the Getting Outdoor weekly thread too.

Hey bro, it was my hope I would get my FJC back from the shop. I am debating whether or not I use this trip to break in my front diff gears or not.
You said 4wd is needed, but is this just bumping down old roads or would this be wheelin.
This will help me figure out what I can with what.

I wouldn’t say it’s a crawling type of road. More like FSR that is not maintained with obstacles that get progressively worse due to all of the traffic the road sees. Mud holes, rock shelfs, off camber wash outs etc. I wish I could be more descriptive but everyone views these differently. I would not rate this as a hard trail by any means. Just one that requires 4wd.

    Absolutely,

    I40 Rest Area:
3792 Cold Springs Creek Rd, Clyde, NC 28721
    (35.7013450, -83.0414657)

I’m planning on heading up 515 tomorrow AM. I’ll be stopping at the Walmart in Elijay to get a few last minutes supplies. Tons of places to meet along the way.
