    After I bought it . It started smoking there was quite a bit a oil under the engine and on the sides there was like a build up of black gunk right under the valve cover gasket I cleaned it and it stopped smoking on one side
    but the passager side of the motor keeps smoking white

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    @Tacomaislife

    First thing I would do is take the truck to a detailer, spend 100 bucks or so, and have the engine bay steam cleaned top and bottom.

    (one word of advise though... take your fuse box cover off and spray it with a thick coat of clear spray paint... the steam clean pressure can knock some of the writting off... ask me how I know :anonymous:)

    Steam cleaning everything will allow you to get a better idea of what is leaking and where it's leaking from.

    Sounds like just an oil leak possibly from the passengers side valve cover.

    Look at the firewall side of the passenger valve cove to see if you see oil leaking there.
    The valve covers leak in this area ( cam seals) and drip on the exhaust

    It's may be possible to tighten the bolts on the valve-cover and stop leaking temporarily, if you can turn them with your fingers. But overtightening can crack the cover.

    Exactly where mine was smoking (for 10-15 mins after starting) because when the rear cam seal is bad it drips directly down onto the exhaust manifold.
