But sweating doesn’t burn calories. Sweating regulates your body temp.

You got me there. But you feel like you’re getting a good pump while sweating.

Meh maybe it’s a high bar thing but my cues are to bend at the hips and knees simultaneously on the way down. Focusing on pushing my knees out. You don’t do that sitting into a chair.

It does not burn a substantial amount of calories to matter.
In fact sitting in ice water burns more calories than sweating.

All in all just don’t worry about it LOL

Its not going to burn the cals to matter.

My advice on the rapid fire metabolism, walk, walk as much as you can. Be moving as much as you can.
    I average 20k steps a day.
As odd as it is I do believe that lets me eat more.
When you are done with your workout just tune into Netflix or Hulu and go for a walk on the TM

If I could give you my metabolism I would. I have a hard time eating enough.

I’m not that worried about it. It’s just fun to try something new. Usually I don’t sweat a bunch.

Wrapping up Thor’s power program 1.0 this week. Today was bench day and called for a single at 307# (I did 305 bc the gym doesn’t have kilos). It was a body weight PR as I’m currently sub 160 and the last time I was benching 300+ I was 175-181 during meet prep :muscleflexing:

Holy fuck I hate children. Stupid kid not even looking starts running out in my path while doing farmer's carries. Didn't even look till I yelled MOVE!

Over 900lbs of total weight moving and this dumb kid just gonna walk right out in front and get killed. I am more pissed that he fucked up my run.... Lost my concentration and had to change my footing cause for a split second I didn't know what he was gonna do, so I ended up dropping the weight short of my PR mark.

    Also fuck his parent too.

Ok... this shit really fucking sucks.
I’m basically reduced to slow walking as my only form of exercise. My organs feel like raw hamburger and my ribs feel like they’re broken. If I sneeze it feels like my pancreas may burst and a kidney may fall out.

The pain sucks, but you know life is pain, I can get over pain. The sitting around all day doing nothing while all my fitness goes to shit is the worst part.

    This sucks.

I’m gonna be a total ray of fucking sunshine when I have surgery if I’m on like week 5 of doing nothing and have 4 more weeks of doing nothing.

He was probably like 11-12. The gym policy is no kids under 14 allowed unless they are in a class, but on Sunday they kind of let that slide so there are kids running around while their parents workout.

What pisses is me off so much is every time I do any type of moving lifts I mark where I am going and tell everyone I am gonna be moving through said area. Their were only us 4 in that gym area and I told his dad, I told the main coach at the gym and then right after he damn near gets ran over. I have brought it up to the owner multiple times when kids are near me and nothing changes. I mean there are times when I'm pressing over 300lbs overhead and there are little kids running right behind me or climbing on shit. If I had to drop it or get out from under it and they happened to be right there it would not be a pretty sight. I don't want to kill someone but there isn't much I can do if these stupid parents don't control their kids. Not to mention my own safety moving that much weight and having to change my footing or drop it unexpectedly.

The coach just assumes the parents are going to hold up the rules, but the parents don't, and they just let their kids run wild.

Also, why do children have to scream so.fucking.much…

    Sorry for the rant.

    Its a liability.
When carrying 900lbs across a gym you having to dismount that weight quickly can not only lead to severe injury and potentially death to a child but can also result in serious injury to you.

Plus you’d be pretty upset to hurt someone else unintentionally.

I’d be having a conversation with the gym owner and be letting them know this is a pretty severe liability for them and I’d want an explanation for why he’s not making it a priority, especially considering depending on the state... he can lose just about every dime to his name if something happens. This is even if he carries hefty liability insurance. A kid dies or gets crippled in your gym... a jury won’t have much mercy.

    I’d be pissed too.

If I owned a gym. No one under 18, no excuses.

I think a lot of it comes from him not really taking me seriously because I'm not doing CrossFit. I know, hear me out for a second...

I made a deal with the owner a few years ago that I would pay a much lower monthly fee to just use the gym for its free weights and I would bring my own strongman gear in. So I am not paying the almost $200 a month others pay, nor am I "a part" of their CrossFit community. He isn't making any money off me so I think he kind of resents that deal he made because he didn't think I would actually keep coming there. I believe he is hoping I get fed up with the kids and classes and that I'll leave. He mentioned to my friend who does CrossFit there that he pays some kind of license/liability amount to CrossFit each month for each member of the gym and that he has to pay that on me even though I don't do CrossFit.

There are other little things I notice he does that make me think this as well, but either way, I don't plan on leaving.

He may have to pay for liability on each person but thats just the cost of business. It shouldn’t be substantial.

He just sounds like a guy who overall doesn’t care. You cannot have kids in a gym. Its stupid for him, for parents, for kids, and everyone else in the gym. Its just stupid.

Even if its a Crossfit gym... people are fucking throwing 300lbs around so I’d think a bigger excuse to be more aggressive about enforcing and age requirement.
