Hey guys. For a few months now I've been getting an on and off "Check Blind Spot System" on my console screen in my 16. Turning it off for a bit and then back on next time I started up seemed to work for a while. However, it has since completely ceased functioning. Took it to a dealership and they said the sensor is fine but the driver side module behind the bumper failed. Said some piece it mounts to was cracked indicating some kind of incident. I bought the truck in Jan. CPO and clean Carfax, BLIS worked all year until about June, so this didnt happen prior to my ownership. And I've never had an incident (plus no scratches of any kind on bumper so no parking lot issues I can assume.)

Any idea as to why it failed and cost to fix for a self-repair?

They told why it failed a crack...if moisture got in its junk.

Looking for info on repair cost and difficulty as well. I'm going to double check thr "crack" when I can get down to the shop because there shouldn't be one. Also the crack was not on the module, he said it was on some internal piece of the bumper.

Thanks man! I wonder if it's worth looking for a used module or if that's just too big a gamble.

I'll try calling Toyota to see if I can get them to cover the failure. CPO only covers powertrain/plant so unlikely but worth a few minutes on the phone trying I suppose.

I do a ton of highway driving and mine's a DCLB so there have been times where I was glad to have it.
