There's an incredible 1st gen near Saratoga/Campbell, CA -- who ever is in this neck of the woods; double-cab, tepui and Maxtrax on the bed rack with relentless bumpers, nice rig!

Earlier this month I was in Salt Lake City for business. Planned to drive back from there to San Jose in a day - around 12 hours. Got to Truckee right as CalTrans started enforcing chain control - no chains, so it was back to Reno, up to Susanville, down through the mountains to Chico, and on to San Jose from there. Ended up being 16.5 hours - long day.

Yeah, I did Oakland to Heber City in one shot. Then back three days later. Good time there, 10 hours. Longer coming back due to rain. But on the way there I had the cruise control set for 90 along the Salt Flats. Hit 105 for a few miles.

Hi, I've search and asked a few of you for suggestions but wanted to ask everyone who has a hard shell rtt, how are you mounting it to a prinsu rack?

I need to be able to take the rtt off fairly easy because the truck won't fit in the garage with the tent on. I also want to raise the tent up just a tad so it doesnt rest on the side rails.

It was a pain to put on and I dont want to go through that again. I thought about using so.e kind of spacer or the prinsu tent mounts bit not sure if that makes it easier to take off but it will get it off the side rails.

I also thought about leaving the cross bars attached to the tent and then just remove those with the tent when I need to take the tent off but then I cant mount the tent to the cross bars that have the mounting feet. Just want to make sure everything is secure and strong.

I know...first world problems...any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

It's a bitch to get to the nuts-that's for sure. I was thinking about getting some mounts so I would be able to gun the nuts on and off (at least use a ratchet).

    Haven't looked into it-but I did look into a bigger garage :D

Yes, getting the nuts on sucked. I'm picking up a cordless ratchet tomorrow. Hoping with some kind of spacer the ratchet will fit and it will be easier to take on and off.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner

Frontrunner makes some quick connect brackets. They’re tall enough it’ll lift off the ride rails and the slide in so you wouldn’t have to deal with the nuts under the Prinsu. I did that once, and said ‘that’s enough of that’.

Plus, Vagabond is a FR dealer IIRC.

I thought about these. Was going to get them for when I had frontrunner racks. I've read in some threads that the frontrunner quick connect brackets won't work on the prinsu racks though....
