I just stick mine in 2nd. So at any given time it can only shift once. Sure it's a screamer and loud as hell on the highway and my gas mileage is only 1 MPG. But no shifts...FTMFW! :headbang:

Have to agree, Toyota did not do "the math" when they made these tranny's....Way too much "technology" in it ... they produced a crappy and irritating transmission. If your happy with yours, GREAT! Myself, I'll live with it but I can certainly understand anyone who bitches about it.

The transmission is just fine, the programing could probably be cleaned up a little but it's not as bad as people make it out to be imo

The programming for EPA milage out and out sucks, shifting at 1500-1700 rpm from 1 to 2nd and 2nd -3rd in mine lol. I know how to beat that though by steadily increasing throttle or just using ECT. I’ve pretty much learned how to make it shift where I want without going to manual. I don’t need OV tune or Pedal Commander, I AM the pedal commander and it does what my foot on the gas pedal tells it too. In cruise it’s gonna shift a lot that’s the way an underpowered 4000 lb truck with a 6 speed auto does. Love the truck anyway.

    I got a Pedal Commander as I’m still under warranty. S5 + PC = 99% improvement

All in good fun:cheers:. I still experience the hunting, but for the most part it only happens up stepper hills going skiing, so i throw it in 3rd and call it a day.
