Putting in some bilstein 5100s and OME 883s but I've heard there willl be inevitably be a 1/4" approx lean toward the driver side with after market suspension.

The real problem being I cannot find anywhere to order one to Canada without shipping coming out to around $80 (twice as much as the spacer itself?)

Just wondering if anyone has a good source for these or suggest some sort of alternative?

    Thanks yall

oh boy.....new to this and accidentally threw it in the wrong thread.....any way to delete? or just move it to 2nd gen tacoma forum

Didn't know 2nd genners suffered the same problem.

    Really, just let it be.

Some don't even notice it until they read about it somewhere online.

This should be in the 2nd gen section, but to answer your question, you may not need a spacer. My dads 08 doesnt lean after we lifted it and has no spacer. If he had one, it would lean the oposite way haha.

If it really bothers you make a spacer yourself

So this is indeed a thing that happens with aftermarket suspension?

The fuel tank, steering rack, and driver added, causes the vehicle to lean slightly more to one side than the other.

This is something that happens with any suspension on our trucks; it's just heavier on one side.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Only if you measure it.

Like they said, some people don't see it.

If you do the math and get a copilot of the correct weight would that not solve the problem

Would have to be a pretty heavy co pilot and tiny pilot with little fuel in the tank to work.

Taco lean really only affects some trucks. Both tacos in my driveway are lifted. Neither have a drivers side spacer and neither lean at all. Its one of those things that you dont really know if you need until after the new suspension goes on.

That could be the magic phrase right there; if the suspension is old and worn out, specifically the coils, then they'll droop to a certain extent.

Putting on new suspension, whether it be an OEM-equivalent or not, would result in the 'lean' exposing itself due to the extra weight on one side compared to the other; this is because the coils on each side are at that point, the same length.

This is all theory by the way; I could be way wrong. :goingcrazy:

Both my trucks got new coils and shocks though. And both have relatively new leaf packs with AAL's, again, zero measurable lean on either.

I dunno, maybe me and my dad just arent as fat as most people on here. :notsure:

You and me both; I'm a little guy

But my Tacoma does have the slightest lean with me outside the truck as you can see by the pic posted above.

Thanks folks. My mistake this should have been in 2nd gen posts but my Tacoma is probably done for anyhow. It was fun while it lasted....

    This.

Usually the people that notice are the ones that use a tape measure WAY too much.

Isn't it usually the 3rd genners than post in the 1st gen section though?
