2018 Tacoma door plastic

Not sure exactly what part this is or if any of you had to replace it. Mines is all scratched up and want to know how to go about replacing it ?

 

I think it's vinyl, I'd get a local wrap shop to redo. They might have to replace both to match, but that should be an easy job for them.

 

Thanks man that’s what I figured. If I were to peel off would it look goofy?

 

I had to have some body work done about a year ago on my 18. That is a vinyl wrap product that come precut (peel and stick). I watched them put it on at the body shop. I would think that Chew is correct, vinyl wrap shop should be able to do that very easily, and cheaper than body shop.

It is just a vinyl decal on there. You can peel it off and you will find the factory paint under it. You could just choose to peel it off and leave it that way.

 

I think some modsters around here peel em off, cause stock sucks , but if for whatever reason they're scratched, don't you want to keep that layer of protection?

I can't remember exactly, but I think I remember mine being white (same body color) under the sticker (but I honestly cannot remember for sure). If it is the same body color underneath, I think it would look better without, but you would have to remove both on each side (I would think).

I had a shop put the vinyl on my pillars because people keep scratching that part with their nails and rings. Also had the same shop put clear plastic behind the exterior door handle in that groove.

on the right truck the chrome look is uber hawt imo

 

Access cab didn't have it. Four less decals I had to remove.

If it was only for protection I would expect it to be clear so I'm not sure what Toyota was after.

 

Also black rigs don’t have them either...almost feel cheated I didn’t get them...Haha
