Hey all, so I just went on some dirt off roading trails and I happen to hit a big bump going at about 35 mph. After that incident my power steering started to stop working. Is this a big issue or did happen to like get unplugged. This is a ‘19 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD, with 22k miles.

    How big?
I'm pretty sure our 3rd generation Tacomas still have hydraulic PS off a belt driven pump. It's a pretty robust system to flat go down.
Is it leaking? Get under there and look for leaks, loose hoses, and bent hard parts.

Yeah so I opened the hood and saw the power steering fluid was a little low so I put a little bit in. Then every time I turn the wheel it would squeal from the tank. There are no leaks of any sort from the car.

The tacoma still uses hydraulic power steering and it is evident by that round bottle with brown fluid. If the power steering fluid was low and it whines when you turn then you have a leak maybe or air got into the power steering lines.

It's broken, fix it and the noise will stop.

Replace it with a Solo Motorsports Tundra rack and pinion Conversion. The stock rack and pinion is one of the week links on a Tacoma.. I hit rocks at 100MPH with no problems. Ok well a flat tire now and then ..

It's most likely a big issue. Mine crapped out at 30k miles from some rough use. Need to get a new rack and pinion.
