    Conventional wisdom says 285’s probably going to rub. CMC necessary. YMMV

    There's probably a lift thread out there, somewhere.
    Maybe no tire thread yet, but I'm betting there's something out there on a 2" lift.

    Hey there OP,

    from what I’ve read.. Bilsteins is a great way to go ! You might have some rubbing with the tire size, but some chopping would do the trick.

    Nitto Ridge Grapplers would be my recommendation.

    Happy New Year

    I am running Bilstein 5100s, OME 885s, 1.5” rear blocks (with angle taper) and Falken Wildpeaks AT3W in 265-75r16. It needed the ECGS bushing upgrade. It rides great and looks super.

    285s = likely need CMC
    5100 + ome coils = YES
    ECGS bushing = likely need

    It had the cyclic vibration with the factory needle bearing... The ECGS Front diff driver side output bushing upgrade fixed the vibration.

    Is your truck stock height in your avatar pic?

    You’d be fine with the Eibach or Bilstein lift. Personally I would go Eibach because it has REALLY good reviews whereas the 5100’s get a mix of reviews depending on the ride quality desired. Why 285’s (what’s your goal? Look or function)

    Lifting the front suspension changes the angle of front axle shafts. Where the driver side axle sits in the diff, there is a needle bearing (weak). That bearing becomes stressed after lift. Ecgs bushing is stronger and can handle the increased angle.

    265/75/16 is a nice size for just about anything.

    If you go with a wider tire your truck will wander more on the highway. You could go 255/85/16 for a skinnier 33”, but they only come in E-rated. If all you are looking for is looks just understand that a wider tire will wear on components like your steering pump and what not because it’s harder to turn a wider tire than a skinnier one. Some people don’t care and can replace parts themselves. Just something to consider...

    285/75r16 tires are really going to bog you down on acceleration and braking. You better have a V6. Gas mileage is will take a hit. I feel the load from my 265/75r16 ATs. With that being said, my next tires will be 255/85r16 Cooper ST Maxx. To Hell with MPG !!!
