1995 Black Tacoma ext. cab

I just got the P0773 code this morning. I’ve been reading that it’s usually caused by either bad fluid, or a faulty shift solenoid. It looks like maintenance on this truck has been iffy before I owned it, so I’m going to start with flushing the fluid. I believe the spec on the ‘95 model is Dex3. Would you recommend a generic Dex3 fluid, or is there something else you guys generally recommend on these trucks?
