The air dam is for aerodynamics and has zero affect on handling or cooling. As to loss of MPG, if you do A LOT of highway driving there might be a little drop off. Maybe 1/2 mpg. You'll notice if you study the specs, a equally equipped OR (no air dam) vs a Sport (with air dam) list the same EPA mileage quotes.

I'll add, if you do remove the air dam, the truck will "cry" for a better skid plate.

Did you try adjusting the level by turning the odometer reset knob/stalk?

I simply wiped it down with soapy water and then a few alcohol wipes and masked the "v" with tape and paper. Then I sprayed around 6 coats of plastidip until it was uniform. Cost less than $8. Think the TRD sticker was an extra $4 off ebay. Really surprised how well it has held up. When I did it there was heavy snow and 15° outside and I was in a partially insulated garage. Already had the @rrentrop blue decals on the letters. Super cheap mod.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I pulled mine for the bar on the front, and noticed absolutely.....no changes. Rip it off!

The Extang Encore tonneau I ordered on Black Friday came in just before Christmas, installed:

    VxUUty4zcHpUo7ABhwhtcWirx8rXEIAYgTrM0Veb_d7ee0493dc1c883fe9c18a06fbd85f5389d12a51.jpg ZfSlQL5injiTjIa1z7cd5mEfVNPXhH83kS9EM2um_d512072d9c2e9f0460fed4ca46119aeb55ccd29a.jpg

The Extang front panel lock doesn't take the milled tailgate keys on 2017+ trucks with push-button start, so I special-ordered P/N 62836 instead of the more commonly available P/N 62835, hence the longer lead time. Extra metal key on my key chain:

I love mine. Damned shame about the key. Worked great for my SR5 key.
