Stupid 4WD knob right next to the AC knobs

My first (and last) Jeep gave you the chance to get out in the snow/mud and manually turn the hubs before forcing the second shifter. Very convenient and tactile.

 

It took 3 days to fix that radiator in 30 degree weather. Finally got smart and plugged in a hair dryer, put it on it for 24 hours to cure it.
This was with it still attached to the truck also.

 

I just drove my sons Ram truck. I was lost when I had to insert the key fob! I stopped went in a restaurant, turned the fob , and reached for the imaginary shifter on the steering column. Nope then reached down for the shifter in the center in front of the armrest! Nope.....

stupid switch on the dashboard!!!!!

What the heck is going on here.

I know how to fix it. Switch the 4x4 button location with the push to start switch. Boom solved.

wait... the PRO's have levers? my 2019 TRD Offroad 4x4 has the stupid knob.. I might have paid the extra 10k for the level.... :/

 

I think it's to get Saftey awards on the small overlap. When you're in that style of accident, your head flings sideways, right towards where the grab handle would be. I think they omitted it to get higher ratings in that sector. Way to go Toyota, indeed.

I've never cranked the 4WD knob thinking it's AC. Not even close.

But my important thread needs to be why the 4WD Knob cranks in the wrong direction.

 

Some 1/4-3/8" polycarbonate, I have no doubt the seal would hold.

 

My wife drove my Taco once. Sends me a text "babe what is this light on the dash? And the truck is really hard to drive and turn." My heart dropped. They need a child protective button on that 4x4 switch.

 

Strong complaint game here op, but you got nothing on the "taco shins" guy.
