    Owners Manual will tell you what to perform at certain mileage.

    It's just a timed reminder. Depending on when it was last reset and/or your particular situation, you may or may not not need an actual service.

    If your truck is at 5k miles, then a tire rotation and inspection provided FREE by Toyota Care is that is required....unless your '17 is more than 2 years old, which it probably is. Then it's on your dime

    @ratrod36

    Your going to get a reminder EVERY 5000 miles. You get your first one at 5000. If you don't get it into the dealer until say 5122, then you're next one will be at 10122. Go in early, say 4899, the next one will be at 9899. You can perform the reset yourself using the trip reset button and following the correct procedure for your vehicle.

    Edit, you'll actually get a warning before the 5000 mile mark that you "need service soon". The warning goes away on it's own after a minute of so. Once the warning is solid, use the panel menu buttons to temporarily get rid of it, but it will show up again every time you start the truck until you do the reset procedure.

    Well....I meant from the in-service date....not model year.

    And I said, "and it probably is"
