It’s broken, no way anyone would do three different duty stations. Even Air Force and Navy baby deployments would only account for two locations.

Oh wait, I’m retired so I think I’ll just relax on the couch and contemplate if I even want to work. :D

Cold Air, level kit, cosmetics, and way more lights than I should have.

My go to was always bleaching and scrubbing the brick building (moss in WA) or sweeping the parking lots. I could reach out to your CoC if that sounds like fun? :D

    more likely scenario:

your wife found out you're not airborne qualified, then divorces you
then marry a stripper because you got her pregnant
then your testicles descend, your voice gets lower, and you go to airborne school... finally

Airborne...where dumb kids who think they’re going to be the next HALO Special Forces Rangers go only to find out they're jumping out of planes attached to a shitty parachute just waiting to bust up their knees and backs, all to make a General feel happy about his division of soldiers trained for an obsolete massed air attacked.

So that you can join the ranks of 98% of those qualified without any combat jumps. Then you do one enlistment in 82nd, get out and talk about airborne every chance you get for the rest of your life. :D:boink:

I actually might work if the right job comes along. I need to feel like I’m doing something good. Actually applied with Veterans Upward Bound. No plans to do some job just for the sake of working though.

I retired about 18 months ago.
6 months ago took a job at a golf course part time .

    Lasted 2 weeks.

    Realized I didn't really want a job.
So now I play golf twice a week, shoot Friday afternoons and a member of the Marine Corps League.

Rest of the time, kids and grandkids keep me busy.

LOL, hey I jumped out of plenty of planes. I just did it on libo and got paid to do it as an instructor with hot vacationing ladies strapped to me as we plummeted to our possible deaths depending on how hungover I was that morning. Honestly it was mostly fat dudes lying about there weight so I was cretin we were gonna die after we made them get on the scale. LOL... Skydive Hawaii!!

your remark made me sad, I'm going to drown myself in irish whiskey

I'll either dry my tears with my Special Forces tab or my Ranger tab, i haven't decided which yet. and everyone who's ever fucked while wearing Class-As knows... an Master MFF badge is metal, and that's not absorbent.

but seriously, going to airborne school is simply a step in learning how to be a member of a group that needs to get to work, but can't land a plane at the destination. that's all, it's just a capability

if you ever get down to the Atlanta - Fort Benning area get up to Rockmart near Atlanta.
The Farm - Chutingstars is a world-class facility, go there and do cool stuff. it's a good vibe, lots of cool people, event boogies, CRW, a pond (if you're into that stuff) and very good riggers/packers

I can't talk shit, I actually requested to attend the Army jump school (in Fort Benning I think it was) on my first reenlistment. It was approved until I signed the paperwork and ended up losing my spot and going to the USMC HRST Master school that was thrown together by Regiment and that was a shit show.

Generally I talk shit about everything in the Army except ODA/OGA. Worked with those guys a few times and they are on point. Well ODA, OGA can be a PITA but I would not think twice about a firefight with them included.

Nice, I got the opportunity to do mountain leaders course and the ass packers course in Bridgeport CA. We all got shirts made that said "citified USMC ass packer". They did not go over well with our BC at PT but the best part was I did the classes with my Company XO so he took most of the heat. The best part about it was about a dozen of us were in Bridgeport for a month and a half before our Battalion showed up so we were like goats by that time and we cruised through the three week BN workup.

fucking seriously? who the fuck wants to do HRST?

yeah. sounds fun... until you're running across a rutty field in the dark towards a bird so you don't slam into the other rope on lift-off
"oh, it's not that bad" you tell yourself as you rapidly go hypothermic in a 40-knot-plus breeze. yeah, wetsuits and drysuits don't do shit for insulation on a rope. and your natural tendency to curl up into the fetal position from that much cold won't happen, because if you dont have your arms and legs out you're gonna twist on the rope and start to spin you around. i forgot the special term they used for that, i want to say cavitate, but i know what that word means and there's no way it's correct

    SPIES can eat a dick

Yeah it had no practical application and just sucked like hell. One of the SSgt's that was in another unit got smashed in the rear gate of a CH53 and almost died and was permanently disabled. It was a shit show. I was lucky to do a lot of schools when I was in because I always graduated them. It's not hard to stand out as a grunt when everyone around you in a dumbass. I was the smartest retarded kid!

Pretty much the same here. It’s also just part of the life. It’s pretty much all in jest, and ribbing each other. When someone gets offended, it’s typically on the offended person. There’s a few out there that take shots that are clearly meant more then as a joke. Talking shit to other branches and MOS’s is part of the fun.

Except Coast Guard, those poor bastards aren’t even military.
