My truck did not come with front mud flaps as the running boards were installed. I have since removed them and now have rock sliders.

I have also installed larger (yet narrower) tires (255/75R17) and am getting a lot of mud/sand on top of the rock sliders, as well as flung against the doors, camper and front of rear fender flares.

With the larger than stock tires, I have had to trim & hammer down the pinch weld as well as heat gun the inner fender liner to prevent rubbing. With this, installing OEM mud flaps will likely rub and/or get ripped off.

What are some options for reducing/preventing mud/slush slinging onto the lower doors and such?

I will not do any of the following:
    • Change wheels (2010 FJ Cruiser Trail Edition 17x7" rims)
    • Change tires for at least 30k miles from now (255/75R17 - 32")
    • Install wheel spacers
    • Install Bushwacker flares or similar (these won't solve the problem anyway)

I know @turbodb solved this by going from the spaced out pretty bronze wheels to OEM 3rd gen (?) 4runner wheels, but as stated above, I'm sticking with these wheels and tires for now.

Get some Ikea cutting boards and attach them with some self tappers or similar. Should cost about $6 and you get your choice of green or red and you get 2 extra cutting boards out of it
