I was very pleasantly surprised to see this at my local grocery store that considers Modelo to be craft beer. This is pure Lager goals.

I’ll admit, even in this advanced new year of 2020 I’m very uncivilized. I still drink out of the can.

Did you taste it "fresh" or aged? I really am not a huge fan of it when fresh, but when aged for at least a year I think it tastes incredible. Much less heavy and a sweetness to it that's hard to describe.

Mini keg ran dry, so I dipped into the wife's beer. This stuff looks funky in the pic, but it's pretty tasty. I think it looks like I just changed my automatic transmission fluid.

Two interesting things I just read...

Santa Clara Valley Brewing founder and brewmaster Steve Donohue announced the Dec. 28th closing, but did not reveal any details or reasons. It opened in 2012 in San Jose.

Christmas Eve announcement by Russian River Brewing about this year’s Pliny the Younger. Owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo say the 2020 edition of their cult-fave triple IPA will be available for just two weeks — Feb. 7 through 20 — and this time, you’ll be able to take two bottles home.

Visit either brewery — in Santa Rosa or Windsor — during those two weeks and you’ll be given a wristband to track your allocation of glasses of draft Younger at the pub. An extra tab on this year’s wristband will allow you to buy two 510-ml bottles of Pliny the Younger to take home. This is the first — and possibly only — time Younger will be bottled, and those bottles will not be distributed through the gift shop or retail stores. The only way to get them is to come and experience Pliny the Younger at the breweries.

128 oz. Or 2 64 growlers. Its about 40 bucks to fill it up, plus 2 more bucks for a threaded C02 cartridge.

The 16oz will last for a 128oz. They make 20oz cartridges just in case. It's best to keep the pressure down unless you want foamy beer. I bought the last cartridge from REI out out of the bike section. Amazon has them for about 1.50, but in a pinch I'll just get them locally from a sporting goods store

    Very nice!
I know this is going to keep seem kind of stupid but since the beer was already dispensed with the carbonation and it's in the container and then you re carbonated using the CO2 cartridge does it make it super carbonated or does it stay the same carbonation?

The CO2 cartridge pushes the Oxygen out and stops the alcohol from getting stale/flat. It also pressurizes the growler to make the beer come out of the tap like magic. I keep the growler between 3-5lbs to stop the beer from getting over carbonated. Some of the local, "beer gardens" use a mix of nitrogen and CO2 the keep the flavor even fresher.

Google, "Bottoms up" draft if you want to see some real draft beer magic. They had a dispensar at nearby minor league hockey team for a few years. It was awesome.
