No clue why they would leave this out on the later models, but I added it back to my 2019. About as easy as it gets. 5 bolt out and back in. I had a couple extra T bolts so I threw in a couple extra D-rings.

I paid $8.30 for each end cap(need 2/EA) part number 66134-04010 and $29 for the rail part number PT278-35100-BH from BAM. I can't say how much the shipping was because I bought them with some other larger items. It shouldn't be more than $60 shipped for the rail and the 2 caps.

you were smart. I was lazy and just went to Amazon. On the bright side, everything was on my doorstep in a day and a half.

I think the reason they eliminated it was that the Tonneau covers wont work with it, I took the one off my old 2015 and transferred it over to my 2017.

I usually give BAM a look, they have good pricing, but if something goes wrong don't expect phone communication. They only do email. The price for saving a few bucks. If you're ordering stuff that's not prone to breaking they are a good option.

Thanks for the info, thought I recalled reading that was the reason they axed it.

This. I sometimes regret buying it, but I wanted to use it to haul my mountain bikes with Yakima mounts. I think the whole flopped over the tailgate thing is a bit much, it's like wearing pants around you knees

The OEM Tonneau has a bracket/rest that uses the 2 holes I circled out in the picture below. There's no conflict for installation and it's fully functional when you remove the cover.
