Yes you have to get the UCon retuned for bigger injectors. Scott should be able to remote in and do it on your laptop. You dont have to send the UCon off to have it retuned

That's what I thought. One of the FJ guys was swapping injectors and reminded me that I need to check with you guys. It's possible he remote tuned. Thanks for confirming

The 2.7 really wakes things up! I’m surprised how much of a difference it made ... I was grinning big while driving tonight.

Finally put in @Roostfactor ’s wrap mod I got from @BassAckwards a while back. Hope it’s in right ...

Looking good! I have the parts on order for the @Roostfactor wrap but may need to do the @BillDaCat8 version if I run the 2.5. Would be nice to run the OEM length belt so I can get a RPM belt on.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. Pretty rad that we can share similar mods across the lot.

Any random tools you guys think I will need installing the S/C or any of the fun mods? I should or have everything listed to install the S/C but feeling there is something I am missing. Since I may switch and do it at home checking I am covered.

yah seemed pretty straight forward. grabbed a tool for serpentine belts and hose clamps but that was about it. We will see once I get into the Mod gauntlet that will be going with it. I wish I could take off some work and get this bad boy dialed in. The mod list keeps growing and the S/C isnt even on yet.

Looks very much like mine, which has been in service for almost 9 mos and 10K miles.

FWIW, an OEM belt on a 2.5" pulley with @Roostfactor Pulley Wrap Mod works well for me. @BillDaCat8's version is on my longer-term wish list. :burnrubber:

nice, thats good to know. I was hoping at least to start I could use the supplied belt, toss on the wrap and call it a day then swap to the RPM @BillDaCat8 down the road. Really trying to get all the supporting stuff lined up for the 2.5 pulley. go big or go home...

It's a lot to do initially, but once it is on it is immensely easy to work with, especially once you know what you're doing. Self install makes the work so much more rewarding, but at the same time incredibly helpful for future work.

That is why I wanted to do it or be a part of the install. I am stubborn and cheap and end up doing shit myself anyway but lets me really get to know the truck inside and out. But engine work is newer to me hence the tons of questions. Now just need a break from work to tear it apart. That and get a new catalytic converter for the other car that was recently stolen. :angrygirl:

Parts that I am more hesitant on are the Fuel Pump change, RatioTek job and maybe Cam Gears but that does not seem to bad as long as I don't mess up the timing. Install overall does not seem too bad.

I could help you with the RatioTek thing, but you would have to bring me the VB. Expect to be down the car at least a day depending on your technical prowess... However, all the internal Garbo that needs to be done involving the valve body modding I could do, dropping the valve body, however is on you, and you have to be careful when doing so, as there are springs and check balls that may drop out in the process. There is a well documented video on how to drop it. It's not hard, but you have to have the eyesight of a hawk to make sure you don't lose any vital parts. Text me if you want more info on it.

Appreciate that. Some of the parts I was worried about are losing those damn check balls. I always seem to lose tiny springs and such.

What’s a good price for a used unit? I’ve been looking but no used S/C can be found. Is 1500-3000max with it rebuilt, bought and installed myself Unreasonable?

Not unreasonable in the upper tier of your pricing, but not everyone is just removing their used units like it's candy.. Usually those installing them keep them on, and since the herd of good to bad 2nd gen drivers has been weeded out by now, all the garbage drivers who want to stick around now drive 3rd gens. Which reflects in the type of posts and logic they have towards everything, which is usually like my dog, no greater insight as they look out of their home window.
