I’m currently putting my engine back together with a rebuilt head. This project has strung out over a month now and along the way I have lost the two bolts that go from head to timing cover. I want this running by the weekend and there is a store in town the usually has any metric bolt imaginable. It’s a long shot.

Would anyone happen to know the length and threads of these two bolts?

Hole measures 80mm total depth. ID is right at 9mm. Torque spec is listed as 15ft/lbs. 15ft/lbs is par for an m8x1.25 bare steel bolt. Taking a stab and looking for an m8x1.25 about 75mm long.

I think you're missing the 2 shorter bolts and if I remember correctly, your measurement sounds spot on. 80mm measured, 75mm bolt to save some thread. M8x1.25 is a common one and if the 2 bolts you're missing are what I'm thinking, they're bigger than the other ones for the cover?

I hope so. They didn’t have 75mm, only 70&80mm. So I’ve got washers, too.
