Hey guys! Just picked up a 17 TRD sport but for budget sake did not get a 4x4. I know terrible but had to make it work as I needed a truck for my work and only wanted a Tacoma. That said, I do love snowboarding and off-roading. Does anyone have experience with installing a locking DIFF on RWD 3rd gen Tacoma? If so is it worth it and how much does it help? Thanks!

What kind of offroading? logging trails in 2WD is all you need, most soft trails are fine too. Mud and water fording I would stay away from.

Mountain driving in winter means you'll need a dedicated winter set, the locker doesn't help with icey highway driving like 4x4 does.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
lots of guys around here run lockers. ARB is the most popular selectable, I know there’s a handful with trutrac and the likes as well.

welcome! browse around and you’ll find a lot of info. Search for key words like Locker, ARB, etc to get better results.
