When accelerating at higher speeds/ higher rpms the engine makes a ticking noise that sounds like the valves. Im not sure though. It doesnt do it any other time.

Can you add some more information at least....?

Could be a number of things based on your "Makes a noise some of the time" explanation.

Mine was doing that, I realized I had an exhaust flange leak. I replaced the gasket and tightened it up and realized I had another one up stream. I haven’t got around to that one as of yet.:bored:

You know what I think I have an exhaust flange leak too. I have a a gasket just need to figure if I need to drill those bolts out or something they’re all rusted out.

Sounds like valve lash. Measured cold, exhaust should be .25-.35mm, intakes .15-.25mm. Larger gap means more lash, which is the cam lobe hitting the shim/valve lifter, and giving you a tick sound.
I just adjusted my valve clearance after an engine overhaul, had 2 valves overspec and noticable "ticktick" with rpm. I think book says check clearances every 30k, can't remember.
