So heres my two cents on this truck as blunt and unbiased as possible. Look: I customized my truck over time, stock tires are hilariously small, i went for 235/75/15 cooper discoverer at3s, painted the rims black and added a good few odds and ends. I often get compliments on the truck, but don't bother lifting it, it looks fine with the proper tires and i've only rubbed the belly once or twice on some large rocks. Flairs look bad on these, and dont bother spacing the tires. Performance: This thing can tow more than most require in the city, i've towed over 4000lbs, utility trailers, campers, cars, etc. v6 would be a waste, with one exception. Highway. When towing on the highway you do have to manually shift it for optimal performance, but its a tiny bit lacking. Expect to do exactly the speed limit, and you will have to sit around 3000lbs or less to comfortably maintain 100km/hr (our highways are constant hills). Off-Road: This trucks seen probably about 2000km of offroad. I've had it on hill climbs, mud runs, camping trips, and our cabin is 40km in the woods on a tiny atv trail where its so rough you can only do about 20km/hr max without losing control. I also go out for fun when we get 40cm snow storms (ass seen in my avatar), haven't gotten stuck yet (knock on wood). So in my honest opinion: v6 is more so a luxury item, not required. 4wd is not required (unless you're into some shit most wouldnt put an atv through, or you only care about the macho look) boats are exceptions. I haven't docked one so i dont know if 2wd is enough, depends on the angle/tires/dock materials. if it were me going through it all over again, I'd look for a newer 5lug just because the price difference is insane and the benefits of the other models arent really worth the thousands more. I'll add some pictures aswell.

I always said my Pontiac Vibe (Matrix) would go at least 80% of the places my Taco would go. Mostly because I didn't care if I bashed it but still......every time my 4WD has been truly needed.....it's gotten stuck.(I'm talking having to go rescue another vehicle.)Taking it out for fun, it's been fine but I could have fun w/o 4WD.

A 5 lug Taco. is a wonderful thing. The only one truly with small truck economy.

Yes, this site you will find is prob. THE most active of ANY car forum these days.

Agreed, I honestly believe a car with a winch can get anywhere I’ve ever gone, granted there would be some damage and it would be slow. The really nasty shit is where I’d use an atv, not a truck

Here's my simple base build. It's just wheels and tires for now, but it made a drastic difference. Low offset and mud tires do wonders.Sorry its so giant I'm a noob. thumbnail_B19EFD5D-B376-45F5-98C4-24F5FA79A047.jpg
