I used block so many times on trucks I can't ever remember. They do not change the ride of the truck, because the spring rate of the factory spring stay the same they only raise or lower the axle depending on what type of set up you have. You do have to make sure that your shocks are long enough to handle the size block you were using. An add a leaf will make your ride stiffer in the back because you are using the spring to re arch your factory Springs to get the height. Now A three leaf add a leaf like what wheeler and headstrong sells will use a combination of the height of the three Springs along with re-arching your factory pack.

You weren't kidding about Marie, she knows her stuff for sure. I ended up going with the heavier 886 springs and will do a toytec 1" block in the back with 5100 all around with 1.25" wheel spacers. I have an install set up for next week.

I have a TRD Sport.... don't like the factory ride feel at all, very bouncy and harsh specially over bumps. 5100s all around with 885s and Icon progressive AALs in the rear again with the 5100s and the front driver side 1/4" spacer for the Taco lean... GREAT ride NOT harsh not bouncy ....

OP do yourself a favor and get the 887s or 885s and AALs for the rear. You will get 2" of lift with this setup and rides A LOT better than stock. Not harsh overy bumps, no leaning into corners or diving up front when braking....aggressive off road. You will like it.

+1 for 887's or 888's. the 886's are made for a bunch of extra weight up front so if you dont plan to add a bumper with a winch the 886's are not for you. Spring rate is more severe with out the extra weight.

I went with the 886 springs because I have a Fab Fours Premium (185 pounds before line x) bumper on the front of my truck. When doing research on spring rates I came across one website stating that the gen 3 tacoma comes with a spring rate just over 700 pounds and if memory serves me correctly the 2nd gen tacoma springs run around 500 pounds. The 886 has the highest spring rate of 660 pounds, so if I understand this correctly any of the available OME springs should run softer than stock. Headstrong off-road has the OME spring rates listed on their website. I'll do my best to post an update next week when I get everything installed.

She definitely is on point! Congrats and post pics after you get it installed.
