Rail bed adapter for 1st gen Tacoma

So there is a flip lac for sale at a good price, so of course I want to jump on it.

however, it is designed for a 2nd gen Tacoma and I have a 2001.

both mine and the truck it’s coming off of are 5 ft beds.

Is there anyway I could get this to
Fit decently? Is there such a thing as an adapter?

It comes down to how you define decently .

Since I have no idea just what this might be.

Most anything can be fabricated to make things work material added or removed as needed

 

Are you talking about a FlipPac camper shell/roof tent combo? If so they sold those for a variety of models — not just Gen 2 Tacomas — so I’m sure it can be fitted. In fact, there are a number of Gen 1 trucks with FlipPacs. Check the Expedition Portal forum.

 

1st and 2nd gens are different trucks. Kinda like trying to fit a ford ranger cap on a Frontier. They might measure close to the same, but the cabs and beds are different shapes.
