Looking to get 2020 OR 4x2 or 4x4 in SoCal

I've only had 4X4 trucks for over 30 years. I live in So Cal and use my truck for trails in Big Bear, the Sierra, Anza, lots of stuff. It's ready to drive up to the snow or a trail head down a dirt road. It takes me where I want to go. Decide what you want to do with it. I like never having to chain up or turn around because the trail got a little rough.

 

only reason I could justify buying a 4x4 in SoCal is this example of owning a boat, but this is my own personal opinion.

I went with a 4x2 sport that I will be adding a locker to eventually. I could not think of a single time or instance that I would need a 4x4. If I go to the snow, I’ll just use chains like millions of people do on the east coast.

As far as holding value....you spend more to sell it for more. Spend $4000 more new to sell it for maybe a little more than the cheaper 4x2 used. At least that is what I am finding in auto trader. No matter what version of this truck you buy, it holds it’s value really well. You can’t really go wrong with any trim level

 

Get a 4x4. U will get your money back when you resell

 

Go with the 2wd if you drive a lot of highway miles, around 250lbs less and smaller tires. Better mpg and acceleration
