Nope. GMRS, either hand held or truck mounted.

Any recommendations for an easy in/out CB? I don't have a use for one and don't want to go for a full set up. Anything handheld maybe? Or will a 2 way work? Would I need it?

Go with GMRS. The Midland MTX275 is a good base that will plug into your cigarette lighter. I keep mine under the seat. Just don’t forget to get your GMRS license. There isn’t a test, you just pay the government $70 and the license is good for 10 years.

I also have a Motorola Talkabout T480, which is a great little GMRS handheld you can find on eBay for less than $25.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with CB, just get a digital radio, FRS or preferably GMRS. A 5w handheld is plenty for the inter group comms, and a handheld CB is crap from inside 5he truck.

Roger that - I'd probably grab something that can plug in to charge rather than burn through AAs.

However, chaps, turns out this is memorial day weekend :( I had no idea. I should have looked on the calendar. I may still be able to make it, but that does change the outlook as we may have other plans with the fam and/or don't want to go from northern NE down to southern NE on Memorial Day Monday (Been there, done that, regretted it and vowed to never do it again). We shall see - as of now, it's a strong maybe.

Either go handheld or this these days.

BTECH Mobile GMRS-50X1 50 Watt GMRS Two-Way Radio, GMRS Repeater Capable, with Dual Band Scanning Receiver (136-174.99MHz (VHF) 400-520.99MHz (UHF)) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RDM9LMM/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_CQOeEbGNC2H3C

Think it was a $70 between midland these days for the full bucket.

For this trip a handheld is more than fine. The trucks can relay any message back if need be. No need to break the bank.
