So far just a tailgate light bar and replaced the backup lights with LEDsl Eventually I'd like to put a topper on it but not many options out there yet. I'm leaning towards a Hi-rise type just for the room. But then again it would be nice to keep the truck in the garage :)
Has anyone switched to synthetic oil? If so what brand/grade? Is anyone using
Mobil 1 5W-30 High Mileage Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil? My '08 Taco has been serviced by the same shop since new and I am the 3rd owner at 123,000 miles. The dealership recommends I stick with Mobil 1 5w-30 dinosaur oil. I'm considering going to synthetic. Any known issues in doing so?

I switched to avocado oil a couple years back. Haven’t regretted it for a moment.

I used to use vegetable oil in mine, then the engine started making funny knocky noises so I went back to canola oil (much better).

Fresh squeezed baby oil gives it that feeling of rejuvenation.

    Seriously though, syn is fine.

How many babies do you have to squeeze to get a quart?

You’re okay. This is a rabbit hole thousands have gone before you and thousands more will go after.

Depends on the species. Baby squirrels don't give much.

This topic has been posted and discussed a zillion times but I just love a good oil thread. We all learn so much from all the petrochemical chemists and engineers on this form.

Thanks for all the replies, funny as they are. Apparently I'm beating a dead horse....aka now dino oil. :0 I didn't happen to see any thread pop up when I did a search. Maybe searching for the wrong thing unless someone has a link. I just bought this '08 and it's in good shape so I would like to keep it that way and in good running condition. I just figured Synthetic would help prolong the engine.

Don't overthink it, switching brands and weights isn't a problem.

Petroleum oil is petroleum oil, synthetic oil is synthetic oil, blend is both synthetic and petroleum oil .
I am personally using 5w 30 Pennzoil Platinum in my 2013 60,000 miles
    You shouldn't have any problems.

    @Hoff
To answer your responce ,Synthetic oil comes from 5qt. Jugs.

I don't write replies to sound stupid.

I am trying to respond to a request by another member in a reasonable manner same as other members do.

Not trying to be confrontational just respectful in a question asked , question answered format.

There’s many that think synthetic oil is lab made and that it’s something special. In fact it sucked from the ground the same as Dino oil is and they both use the same additives.
