oil filter canister parts

Omg i dropped the oil filter canister ,parts few out of it. so there is a tube spring and a little plate. the plate seems to fit over a raised brass area at bottem of canister the spring looks like it fits in the little plate tube over the spring then twist under the four little retainers, does this sound right
