USB wont recognize my samsung s9 2017 tacoma

    Hey guys! So I'm having trouble hooking up my samsung s9 to my 2017 tacoma. Charges my phone but wont recognize for anything to do with audio and playing music from phone. Please help. So annoying.

    Which USB port are you using? The ones in the center console are not multimedia ports.

    Can you connect with bluetooth instead? That way, it connects each time.

    Bluetooth works great. Just cant use voice control for audio that's all

    I use an iphone so would Siri be the same as voice control? If so, Siri works fine through bluetooth.

    Others have posted, that you need a correct usb cord, some cords won't connect correctly.

    I know some phones block access to internal storage to prevent someone from accessing your data via USB, so it may be that you need to make a change. I don’t have an Android phone, but this link should help either solve the problem or give you another avenue to investigate.

    Also, as mentioned, it is possible to buy USB cables that are, by design, missing a required pin, and only allow charging. Usually you have to seek these cables out, they aren’t usually found at Walmart, Best Buy, etc., but they do exist.
