Do you mean SB and SLO? San Clemente (SC) and SLO are far apart.

I think it’s hard to buy a bad wetsuit nowadays. Depends on your budget but every brand seems to have different tiers. If you want to be absolutely warm than the most expensive ones are usually the go to.

For SLO water temps my advice is to look at a 4/3 with attached hood or a 5/4 if you run cold.

For boards you’ll have to give more information to give a recommendation. Need info like how long you have surfed for, proficiency and if you want to long board, short board or midsize funboard.

Look on Amazon. Just picked up a 4/3 ripcurl flashbomb for $150. Have picked up many xcel 3/2 for under $120.... Some as low as $75. Never pay anywhere near full price.

This is over by the stairs off of beachcomber street. Board wise I only have the one and its a 7'2 but people ride long boards and short boards there too. Saw a wavestorm shredding that day. Wetsuit wise both of mine are 4/3's and they seem to do just fine. I'd recommend some booties though for shell if you have them. I don't have any nor frequent shell ( that was only my second time ) but its a pretty rocky shore thats a little rough if you aren't used to it. Hope this helps!

Surfed Blacks yesterday 2-4 ft, inconsistent and soft. Sunny, glassy, clear water. Perfect conditions except little swell.

It looked like San Diego had some bump. I went Friday out to bolsa chica and it was about as flat as it gets. I've got a 3 day weekend with presidents day next week and am trying to figure out where to go. Wife is out of town so I'm up for anything.

Heading to San Diego end of April beginning of May. Been looking online and looks like there are tons of place to surf. Anyone have any recommendations though?

Surf pismo pier mainly (local beach break). Gonna be staying downtown so anywhere close? Not familiar with the area.
