Born in the 80s crowd (previously known as the 30s thread)

Anyone here have no idea what you're supposed to be doing in life?

Because when I was in my 20s and early 30s I had a plan, and now i'm kind of wondering at 33. And that's why i'm here....

 

I wonder every day what I’m suppose to be doing in life. Hahaha

 

One foot in front of the other, that’s all that matters. Set a goal and make incremental movements towards it, then repeat the process.

And, to add to the feeling old thing... I fucked up my back the week before Christmas.

I was bending down to pickup a bag of pellets to fill up the pellet stove, and felt a little "pinch". Took it easy the rest of the day. Then, the following day, completely forgetting what had happened the day before, I bent down to pick up a bag of sand for the Mrs, to take to her school since she's a kindergarten teacher, and REALLY fucked it up. This was a day before I was going to FL for the week of Christmas.

While I was down there, obviously it felt better as each day went by since I wasn't doing anything crazy. Got back home to CT, played soccer the day after, and felt "ok"... Just a bit sore. Played again the following day in my over 30 league, and tweaked it a bit somehow. This was last Monday.

Took it easy on Tuesday, felt a bit better, so on New Year's Day I went to play in the pickup group that I usually play with at night. Was super stiff, probably shouldn't have played, but played anyway.

Thursday felt a little sore, so hoped on my bike like I did every night before Christmas, for some cardio. Friday during the day felt ok, but by Friday night, holy fuck! Sharp pain from the left side, and no matter how I sat, laid down, walked around, it was BAD. Slept like shit, but as the day went on Saturday, the pain went away. Today is just a bit sore still, nothing compared to Friday night though.

Wonder what the fuck caused it to be the way it was on Friday night.

This getting old thing fucking blows.

Whatever it is, it hurt like a mofo.

I should probably start going to a chiropractor on a regular basis, even if this heals/goes away.

 

I would start there but make sure you do research and find one that is good. I also like acupuncture but that’s not for everyone.

 

My wife knows of one that someone she knows used to work at, and is highly recommended. Gotta go check it out.

And I'd be open to acupuncture. I'd be open to anything that would help.

 

I was pretty lucky that with my insurance I had 28 visits each year covered at a $20 copay so I went every two weeks. I don’t as much anymore in fact I haven’t been in probably close to a year but I should think about going in for some “routine maintenance”

 

Nothing wrong with some routine maintenance. That's what I am thinking I should be doing as well from now on.

welcome... pretty quiet in here because we are all working to hard to pay for our trucks and take care of our kids

 

That makes total sense. No kids here, but during the week all I do is work and sleep
