So I've read tons of threads on OME suspension and debated with mysel on which suspension to go with for weeks. I've decided on an OME 2" against ADS and BP51 coilovers just to have more money for other stuff plus I don't really wheel that hard. Blah blah. Anyway, I'm still not sure which shocks to run. 90000 vs 90021?

My truck now has an RTT on bed rack and cab rack, and eventually will also have a swing way tire carrier, front plate bumper & winch, sliders and skids - plus food, water, and other gear as well as two passengers. This isn't a DD, but I hope to achieve a good balance of on road handling - especially minimal body roll with all the weight, and good shock absorption off road.

Is anyone running a similar set up on OME 2" heavy lift with OME 90021 shocks?

Dude! I just installed nitrocharger 90000's with 886 coils a couple months ago. I love this setup. I had SPC upper control arms installed with them and 285/70/17 tires. CV angles look fine, no problems whatsoever.

I jumped on a deal here on the forum when I was a new member and didn't read about them in depth until after I purchased them. I was so worried reading things on here about how stiff of a ride it would be with no bumper or winch on front. There are a couple members on here with the 886 coils and no weight and they love the set up. I PM'd a few of them and got their insight. I went ahead and did the install. No regrets whatsoever.

I wouldn't go any other route. I read on here about people having to put spacers on their 885's and 887's or how they're sagging after putting weight on. Right now my truck rides firm but comfortable, not much different than stock to be completely honest. And if I ever want to add a bumper and winch I won't have to change out my coils, these 886's will keep the weight up. Best lift IMO. Don't be worried about what people are saying on here. If I had listened to a lot of them I would have regretted it.

    Awesome thanks for the details!

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too, about the other coils settling a lot and reading how other people end up having to run spacers later even without a bumper and winch.

So you’ve got the stiffer shocks? And the lane stripes don’t rattle your teeth when you change lanes?

Yeah I have the stiffer shocks, 90000's. I read up on here for maybe 6 months everyday before I finally decided to go through with the installation. I was almost going to back out and install some 887's, I'm so glad I didn't. I love the people on the forum here but from reading what they had to say, it's like the 886's with no weight would have made my truck ride like an 1800's horse wagon and I'd have to drive with a mouth piece. These guys are being so over dramatic.

The ride is honestly not THAT much different than stock. It's a bit stiffer but I can only notice it when I'm going over train tracks or speed bumps, and that's IF I pay attention to the ride quality. Any coils are going to be stiffer than stock though. And I talked to a few guys here on the forum that say they honestly can't tell ANY difference between their 886's and friends' Tacomas they've driven with 885's and 887's. If you read up on other forums like TTORA you'll see a lot of guys complaining about how retailers gave them advice to use 885's or 887's for full 3 inch lift, but they only got 2 inches with no weight on front.

I'm planning on keeping this truck a long time and I'm glad I stuck with 886's. Wouldn't put any other coils on. They gave me a full 3 inch lift and ride great.

To be fair the OP has a 3rd gen and Motodude has a 2nd gen so not exactly comparing apples to apples.
