Why do people on this forum try to hide their licence plates in pictures?

I am a self-confessed GM nerd. I was born in 1989; I was obsessed with Chevy trucks for nearly two years before the Tacoma made its debut, and if I saw a Chevy or GMC truck I like in a parking lot (even a bone stock one), I'll would take a few pictures; One time some twatwaffle actually tried to reach through the open window of my Tacoma and grab my $700 Nikon D5100, after he caught me taking pictures of his GMC Sonoma in the parking lot of my bank. Luckily, I'd anticipated that this guy was going to be trouble as soon as I heard him scream at me across the parking lot, and I had my Tacoma in drive and my foot on the brake pedal. As soon as he crossed that line by attempting reach into my truck, I buried the accelerator and took off!

 

And also, I do believe there's something in CoC about obscuring license plates in vehicle pictures before posting them on TW...? Is this a thing, @ColoradoTJ?
