Slider serve as step rail?

    I put 3M Traction Tape on my sliders. Keeps footing secure. Current tape has been on for about 3 years.

    I have the 5 degree sliders from RCI.

    They work pretty well as a step. Though it might sound trivial, you have to be intentional in where you're placing your foot. This isn't a blind step toward the undercarriage of the truck. It's an intentional placement of the front quarter of your foot at an angle as you enter.

    If you're not paying attention you'll kick your body. Over time that's going to cause wear.

    I like that they have a slighty tucked looked. If I had a wifey and kids I'd probably consider zero degree.


    Edit: I opted not to get a top plate. That may change the experience altogether.

    I don't think they work very well as a step, personally. They are not much lower than the floorboard you are stepping into.
