Why are you adapting a 3/8" drive to a 2" socket anyhow? Don't like using more than one ratchet?

Anyone used the harbor freight Vulcan omni pro 220 welder. I’ve been looking at getting something that can mig and something that I can learn the basics of tig on. The price is sure right...

Don't do it. I wouldn't recommend multi-process welders because when they break, you're done with ALL welding that you may want to do. If you are dead set on a multi-process, look at a more tried and true brand at that price point like Everlast or Lincoln. Lincoln's Power Mig 210 MP has a manufacturer's rebate going on right now that'll drop the price below the Vulcan's price will likely be a a more reliable machine.

You'll have to purchase all the accessories separately, but you'll end up getting a better quality machine and can build your arsenal on a solid platform.

Anyone have the 3'' electric cut off tool? I saw a coupon this week for one.. and could use one in the arsenal.

I just bought this HF Pittsburgh 3/8 extended flexhead ratchet to change my serpentine belt and loved it, especially using the 25% coupon, but not so much spending 1/2 hour trying to release it from the plastic security device attached to the ratchet and not damaging it.

Bought one and used it last night to torque my lugs after painting my rear hubs black. Is it pretty accurate for you? I set it at 88 ft-lbs and that doesnt seem like it took much effort before it clicked. I dont have much experience with a torque wrench so it could be just how they are.

+1. the only time you want a multi-process machine would be if you had a service truck and had no room for two units. TIG is a separate animal and a decent machine has a lot of specific features that you won't get in a low cost multi-process

88ft-lbs is not much. My HF clickers have proved more accurate than my Craftsman clicker. After I started using torque wrenches, I haven't stripped a bolt and have seen how much I was over-torquing things without them.

Pick one of these sometime to verify: I have a similar one bought many years ago and use it for small bolts into aluminum threads on my motorcycles.

    Exactly. I was the same.

I've had their $20 1/2in drive (same as the one you got for $10) for almost 25yrs.

i've debated between the Miller 215 AC/DC, or just Hobart Mig and Hobart Tig.

Since that little miller is so expensive, it opens a lot of options for two separate rigs.

Anyone buy the icon digital tq wrench yet?
I am doing a performance motor soon and am looking for an affordable option for a tq wrench that measures angles

I purchased the 1/4” torque wrench but I haven’t used it yet. But whenever I torque my wheels I tighten with ratchet til it starts clicking immediately

Isn't there a little mark on the back that shows where to snip it with some diagonal cutters to release it from the wrench?

I have this cart burning $89.99 + tax in my pocket after buying the 4 drawer unit I think I want another one. IMG_2719.jpg

I don't have a garage so rolling tool carts around for different projects is becoming more and more convenient.

The hydraulic feed bandsaw is back in service!! The hardware store didn't have any metal knobs suitable for fixing the tensioner on the band saw so I went full hillbilly on it and welded a half inch nut on the tensioning bolt at the proper depth and welded a 3 inch long .25" bolt to the top for a hand "knob".

Looks brutal but I don't know if I'll bother to swap it when the replacment part finally shows up. This ugly fix will certainly last longer than the OEM plastic replacment knob I'll get...
