What is the easiest way to power a CB? In the past I've wired CB's to the battery (via aux block in engine bay), but I've seen people use a fuse tap, and also hard wire to the center console 12v connector.

If I was to wire it to the 12v in center console, whats the easiest way to go about doing that? I can solder, etc... and electrical doesn't scare me, I'd just like to know if anyone has pictures or ideas for how this can be accomplished cleanly. Any reasons NOT to do this?

I was planning on doing the same thing. It barely draws any current so I was going to tap into the power outlet and figure out where to route the mic.

You could tap into the power outlet or use an add a fuse. I have the same radio and the head unit fits perfectly behind the plastic kick panel by your foot on the driver's side. Then just run the cable for the hand unit over the steering column. I found how to do it in a thread that I'll try and find.
