Custom Fob for 2020 Tacoma MT???

Currently awaiting completion of my 2020 Tacoma OR which I got with the manual transmission.. can anyone tell me if they've found a source for a fob similar to the AJT designs fob? I know it comes with the hard key and fob built in but my plan is to separate the key from the fob, put the guts of the fob into a casement and leave my key in the truck. Also, does the MT Tacoma have the same sensor that detects the proximity of it's fob and automatically unlock? Thanks for any insight as I'm brand new to the world of tacomas..

Its the only other one I know of currently.

The proximity function is only on the vehicles with smart keys, i.e. not the M/T trucks

Thanks for that link! That's likely the road I'll go down..

 

If you really need a separate key on top of that, I'm confident there's a blank available without the fob, as my auto came with one in addition to the two smart fobs (each with their own auxiliary key blade inside)

 

That was my contingency plan. That way I can save wear and tear on the key flip function and still have a full access option for entry.. I've never had a new vehicle but I've always liked Tacomas capability and dependability.

 

The AJT works with 2020 MT. You can buy two and have your key in one and the remote guts in another, he includes a plug for this. MESO also makes one, and is coming out with the Flip Fob soon, which I will be switching to.

 

I'll probably just end up trying both out and figure out what works best for me.. a little off topic but do any MT owners have any sage wisdom to lay out for a new guy?

 

I hope the Flip Fob does come out soon, seems like it has been pending for awhile.

 

I've given up and made peace with the stock key. No need to hammer F5 for updates, deal with the feeding frenzy, or limited stock.

One of like the only two or three parts about our Jetta I liked.

 

I need this in my life. I wish I would have got the push to start Taco. But when I saw this mod, I was 100% okay with having the H key. Please make these a reality. I’m gonna purchase 2 without hesitation.

You and me too buddy! I already got an app-controlled remote start, now I need a sexy flip fob to feel better about not having push to start and all the other goodies that come with it.

 

which Remote start did you go with? I’ve been looking a few different options, but Leaning towards the N2 Designs
