For the BS aspect of this thread....

I’ve got a new partner for my off road kitchen company venture Pull Kitchen. He’s a former Apple engineer who helped design the iPhone 11 and was tired of living in China most of the time. He’s brought really strong CAD skills to the table and some stellar ideas. We just finished modeling out the new kitchen for any interference issues (the model moves and functions like the real thing), changed our power and water solution, and moved the main slides internally for a wider and cleaner look that ups the total volume by 8% vs my original prototype. We are meeting today to finalize the cut list and purchase supplies for this build out, plus we just signed up to be a vendor at Overland Expo West. So I’m pretty excited! I just cleaned out my entire garage to be our shop, feels good to be organized finally after the move. Thanks again guys for the invaluable help with that.

    Oh and I’m glad I didn’t die 2 months ago :)

I really like your designs. A big part of me wishes I hadn’t gone the Goose Gear route because of the raised fridge section. Your pullout kitchen design allows for a nice flat top in the bed. Only downside is I wouldn’t be able to use it without sliding it out.

You’ve designed, engineered and built a seriously great bit of kit sir!

Thanks! Yeah everyone’s build needs are so unique it’s hard to make a solution for everyone. Goose Gear makes great stuff, I’m just usually surprised how much it costs. Not that my unit will be cheap, but for what you’ll get I think it’s worth it if people want a kitchen set up. There’s nothing wrong with hydrating your food while camping though :)

I’m also working on a matching low profile fridge slide that will be pretty economical for those with clearance issues.

Yup. One of these days I’ll actually make it back to an OB meetup and we can introduce ourselves and compare notes. I truly appreciate your ingenuity.

That's what it looks like. Any particular reason to put that in the middle? I love the concept, just would prefer to have the stove unencumbered by boxes on each side. I'm just weird that way. Need more elbow room.

If the unit is at the end and extends from the end of the drawer then all the electrical and plumbing has to extend and recoil over and over, plus the boxes and flip up glass provide a nice windscreen when you are literally on top of a mountain. I’m not small and it’s plenty of room for me to cook and have space 468E07D8-7979-4403-AAB4-A17C81BCC5DD.jpgE97B6A24-27ED-4D21-B305-33A3C6C93DBE.jpg

Coming from someone who tends to break things...

how about some drop down legs on the far end? adjustable of course, to account for uneven terrain and whatnot. I just look at that and think "boy, if i lean on the end of this kitchen with all my weight im going to collapse it" lol

Im sure its more sturdy than i think it is, but it would be the major concern i had if i were considering something like this.

    You big brute.

It’s pretty sturdy when extended. I’ve never once thought it would break. But I have considered an optional leg so if someone was nervous or has small kids that might chimpanzee it
