I'll find out this week. Still waiting on the meat to be ready. Should be no more than a few days more.

 

Cool. I'm sure you've been told this and are aware, but it can't be stressed enough. Don't overcook it. It's so low in fat/lean, that it can quickly turn to leather if you're not careful.

 

I've cooked with it before in soups and chilis. Basically, if i keep my wife away from it, well be fine lol (she cooks everything well-done)

Hey Josh! So how many deer did you get this year? I almost tagged 3 the other night, and possibly more that were ready to follow them into the road. That God for LED headlights.

 

I got a 90-pound doe and a 100-pound doe. Killed one at evening, dropped where I hit it at about 100 yards and the second at Sun up the following morning at about 125 yards.

 

Nice! Is that big for down there or smaller than average? If they're younger then the meat will be more tender. I'd imagine with it being mostly flat there that they are not as lean, that is if they have enough of a food source and can graze. Here depending on where you hunt they vary. Eastern Shore deer tend to be larger and not as lean since it is flat and lots of corn and soy fields to graze in. Once you get up in the hill country of western Maryland they have to work harder to get to food so they are more muscular and not as tender.
