1 inch spacer lift and dropped the sway bar down as well . Rides like stock with 265/70/17 . Just wanted to level it out .

    Stock with 265/70

The spacer itself is 1"? That mean you're 2 inches higher in the front. 0.5" spacer would gove the OP the 1" he is looking for.

255/85R16 tires get you approximately 1.2 inches of lift at the axle. No impact to the suspension other than the additional weight of the tires. Sell your old tires and recoup some of the cost.

That was my original plan but I tried to sell my tires when they were new but didn't have any luck. My goal was to get like an inch by the suspension so that I could get even bigger tires and they wouldn't rub. Hopefully like 2.5-3 inches in the end. It surprised me that the tires in the first place from the factory weren't even off-roading tires like the ones that come on the trdpro 4runner.

Tires off the wheel sell much better, and you're only going to get 4-500 for the stock Goodyears. If you're thinking about getting 285s, you will need a lift and likely some trimming. I don't know your ultimate end-goal or budget, but from what you're asking, going to 255s is your lowest cost/most effective option. You can always lift after that, but spacers, new springs, etc. is more invasive, more expensive, then you have installation and alignment costs. If you want a 3in lift, do that; don't waste your money on a spacer lift. The 255s will fit just the same, with or without a lift, so there's no risk on that end.

Quite a few things at this point..
Which 1/2" spacer did you go with, and did you have to put longer studs in?

I had a 3" (front), 2" (rear) spacers put in my 2020 TRD Sport. Since I had this put on right after I got the truck, I can't say I noticed a lot of ride difference. I don't do heavy 4 wheeling so hitting the bottom of the shock...well, hasn't happened yet anyway. I didn't go with the coil-over because it was $1200 more.

Question is why do you want to? I just did 265/75/16 and done will get you anywhere I want to go have you got into a situation you can’t go?

Billstein 5100 shocks all around set to .5" to 2" ( your choice ). It's a budget friendly suspension lift that doesn't tinker with the other stock suspension components. I have mine set 1.5 and its a much improved ride. Added some tall skinny 33s and I have a 3" overall lift for under 2k.

Also, if you do any off-roading using spacers, you're increasing the risk of having an issue in the worst place to have an issue. Ultimately, it comes down to how you use your rig and what your trying to accomplish within your budget.

Nope, Fox suspension would replace this and is more expensive.
